Ever since I was a kid, back in the 80′s, ahh, 70′s, Oh, All Right, the 60′s. Yeah, I’m old! So listen up for some “old man’s wisdom.”

What I’m trying to say is that, even when I was young, I was aware of how us humans have a choice when it comes to keeping the earth clean and live-able. Even the smallest gestures such as managing temperatures with your thermostat, reusing a water bottle or recycling plastics, glass, cans and newspapers can have an effect on the quality of the water we drink and the air we breathe.

The cast of the hit Fox television show, GLEE, made some public service announcements that have been airing to make more people aware of Earth Day (4-22-11) and what it means to us. Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Chris Cofer, Heather Morris, Lea Michele and several others share some tips that we all can use to do our part to make the earth a better place for future generations.

For example, Naya Rivera mentions that offices could re-cycle their white paper and reduce the waste they send to land fills by 50%. Jayma Mays mentions solar panels, something I have and, by the way, they work great.

The following YouTube video is a compilation of all of the PSA’s recorded by the GLEE cast. Check it out …

I am from an older generation, and I don’t have kids or grandkids, but I still care enough to re-cycle and do other things to protect our environment. For one thing, I prefer to paddle my inflatable kayak in clean water, not gross sludge.

If you are from a younger generation, or have grandkids, it’s even more important to do things that will help keep the world from turning into a garbage dump. Celebrate Earth Day, every day!
