If you fall in the water, stay with your craft. Don’t paddle at night unless you are experienced. Check weather conditions before you paddle. These statements sound so logical. They’re just “common sense”. Yes, they are, but it’s amazing to think that many people ignore “common sense” when paddling or boating.

May is National Boating Safety Month, but when it comes to paddling your kayak, every time you paddle should be “National Boating Safety Day”. Don’t mess up and make a mistake that will cost you your life. Sometimes bad things happen fast in the water, too fast for the average person to react to and that’s something that care and common sense prior to paddling can help you avoid. Like putting on your life jacket or paddling vest!
