Since the newly designed 385ft Fast Track inflatable kayak was introduced by Sea Eagle in April of this year, it’s become the companies most popular premium kayak. At 12 and a half feet long, the 385ft can be used as a solo or two person kayak. The new addition to the Fast Track family is the 465ft. It’s a 15 foot inflatable kayak that can be paddled by one, two or even three people. It’s light, too, only 45 pounds, yet the 465ft will carry up to 795 pounds of paddlers and gear.

The 465ft uses the same technology as it’s little sister. Sea Eagle added a rigid, inflatable drop-stitch floor as well as a high pressure drop stitch inflatable keel to the bow of the kayak. Those innovations, combined with the large removable skeg in the stern, manage to limit the “yaw” (a side to side motion), that results when a kayaker is paddling. The “yaw” will often be more of a factor in inflatable kayaks because they ride higher in the water than a folding or a hard shell kayak. The Fast Track is also better designed to be paddled in windy conditions. Like most all of Sea Eagle’s inflatable kayaks, the Fast Track will handle rapids, too, up to class three whitewater. When riding the rapids, the removable skeg should be taken off the kayak.
