Theme: Kayaking Etiquette – Touching Without Permission
Author: KayakGuyMarch 6, 2009
When you’re in an area where there are several kayaks on a riverbank or lakeshore, a good, courteous rule of thumb is “don’t touch”. It’s kind of like going to a custom car show and showing respect by not getting fingerprints on those beautiful shiny, freshly waxed classic automobiles. Another rule of courtesy to follow is not to move anyone’s kayak without their permission. I know I wouldn’t be happy if someone dragged my inflatable kayak, because I take care to lift it when I move it to avoid any possible punctures from debris on the ground. There is, of course, a major exception and that’s when another person’s kayak may be in danger or about to accidentally float away. Then you can touch, for sure!
